Authority

Authority comes from one’s power to influence others, especially because of one’s commanding manner of one’s recognized knowledge about something. Some might wonder why the GLSSR is the Authority on Lean Six Sigma. It is quite simple, the GLSSR Body of Knowledge comes from three of the world’s most influential Lean Six Sigma Leaders.

Dr. Mikel J. Harry

Has been widely recognized and cited in many publications as the Co-Creator and Chief Architect of Six Sigma. Mikel was a Co-Founder of the Six Sigma Academy and Founder of the Dr. Mikel J. Harry Six Sigma Management Institute.

Thomas Pyzdek

Founder and CEO of The Pyzdek Institute and holds more than 50 copyrights including The Six Sigma Handbook, The Lean Healthcare Handbook, The Quality Engineering Handbook, and The Handbook of Quality Management. Tom’s works are used by thousands of universities and organizations around the world to teach process excellence.

Doug Mader

Ph.D. is CEO of Sigma Pro. Doug has trained and certified hundreds of Executives, Champions, Master Black Belts, Black Belts, and quality practitioners for clients including the American Society for Quality, the Six Sigma Academy and many top companies. Prior to the formation of SigmaPro Inc., Doug held several notable positions in the Six Sigma field. He was a Vice President with the Six Sigma Academy, where he led the Design for Six Sigma business unit. He was also a corporate director of Design for Six Sigma at Seagate, where he helped develop and implement innovative approaches to the design of products and services. Doug held the position of quality program manager in Hewlett-Packard’s corporate quality organization, where he was responsible for the deployment of Six Sigma. Prior to joining HP, Doug held the position of principal staff scientist with Motorola’s Six Sigma Research Institute (SSRI). At SSRI, he was instrumental in the development of the original Six Sigma Black Belt model and was Motorola's very first Master Black Belt.
